What ages and ability levels are taught?

From t-ballers to little leaguers to travel ball players to teenagers in high school trying to make it to college, and all the way up to adults playing in Sunday league, the coaches on the MADE Baseball staff provide private baseball lessons to any player ages 4 years of age and up.

All baseball ability levels are welcome from absolute beginners to competitive high school players and beyond.

How old should children be before signing them up for baseball lessons?

As a parent, you should always decide when feel it is the right time for your child to learn from a private baseball coach.

While we do allow clients to book lessons for children as young as 4 years old, at this age, they will be mostly just having fun experiencing the different parts of the game from hitting a ball off of a tee, to running the bases, to learning the different positions, and much more. This foundation will help to get them comfortable with learning from a coach.

T-ballers ages 4-5 will focus on having fun and learning the rules of the game while gaining a solid introduction to what it means to be coached in baseball. For those who display more natural ability and zest for the game, they will be coached up and challenged appropriately.

Little leaguers who have a season or more of experience will progress into more concepts and a bit deeper understanding of rules and basic fundamentals. They will also have an opportunity to work on all aspects of the game.

In general, your best results will come from making it a routine to play catch with your child and hit a bucket of balls out at the park or at a batting cage and allowing them to cultivate their own love for the game through the bond you create with them.

Once they begin showing their love for the game and expressing a desire to improve, we suggest that you offer them an incentive to earn private lessons from one of our professional coaches, before signing them up for private lessons.

Approaching it in this way will be a far greater baseball path for your player than signing them up for lessons right away.

How many baseball lessons should I/my player take per week/month?

In general, one lesson a week is a great interval when a player is beginning to train. We always give our players homework and drills to work on between lessons and the more the player utilizes the exercises their coach has given them to do, the more they will continue to grow and at a faster rate. Remember, results take time, especially for those that are not naturally baseball coordinated.

If a player is older, more advanced and self-motivated, and has a busier playing and school schedule, training once a month with a MADE Baseball coach is excellent to keep looking forward to every lesson and taking ownership of their game and their homework through out that month.

Am I too old to take private baseball lessons?

Of course not…if you love baseball and want to get out on the field and work on your game, our coaching staff is excited to work with you and get after it. We have worked with players as young as 4 and as old as 77 years old. We love all of it and we always welcome a new face, personality, and challenge!

Playing baseball is an amazing and fun sport and having the chance to train with one of our professional coaches will always be a great experience. Whether you played high school ball long ago and know the game, or you are an absolute beginner, it’s never too late to learn how to play baseball and get after it on the field.
